In the Beginning    

 

John 1:1-5

 

In the beginning was the Word,

 

and the Word was with God

 

and the Word was God.

 

He was with God in the beginning.

 

Through him all things were made;

 

without him nothing was made that has been made.

 

In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

 

The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

The beginning is one "religious" idea that works its way into the mind of any thinking person. We have learned a lot about how our world came to be, and are learning more about the process that created the stars, but some questions are hard to answer. How did it start? Has it always been here. Why?

 

As a Christian I find my answers in the bible which tells of a loving God who loved so much that he created humans with whom to share his love. The "beginning" of the book of Genesis says that he created mankind in his own image and that he walked with him in the cool of the evening. The Scriptures tell us that God desires to have a relationship with us. Even I think this is a pretty wild story at times, but my life experiences continued to prove it true to me. Would you like to have a relationship with the God who created it all?
