We are Being Saved!
Twice St. Paul uses the phrase "those who are being saved." These words mean a lot to me, especially whey my faith is seems weak or when life is causing overwhelming discouragement. It is crucial that we realize the work that God is doing in our life is a process. We have not arrived, we are not complete, but thank God, we who believe are in the process of being saved. John used different words to remind us of this. "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is." I Jn 3:2
Perhaps you have failed to live up to your dreams. Maybe you have recently committed a sin that is dragging you down. This is no time to give up, this is a time to trust God for what he will do in you, and for the situation you find your self. Do you think your life stinks? We are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. (NIV) Your continued faith in God and his Son will give your life a beautiful aroma. God is not finished with you yet!
1 Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (NIV)
Rom 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (NIV)
